Strictly Come Dancing Series 5
Series 5 begins on BBC1 prime time, Saturday 6th October 2007. The show will be run in a similar format as previous series, with 14 couples and 12 shows. Bruce Forsythe & Tess Daly will present the BBC 1 Saturday night programme.Sunday nights will see the Strictly Results programme, airing on BBC1 for around 45 minutes.BBC2 continues the "Behind the scenes" programme "Strictly Come Dancing - It takes two" presented once again by Claudia Winkleman. This show will air week nights 6.30pm - 7.00pm.This series the format changes. The competition takes place on the Saturday night show, then the voting lines will be opened. On the Sunday night show, the two couples with the lowest scores after the judges & public votes are combined will have to perform a "dance off". Each will be allowed to perform their dance again and the judges will make the final decision on the couple to leave the competition. This format has been chosen as several strong competitors have left in the early weeks of past 4 series.Week 1 sees the professional ladies and celebrity men battling it out to stay in the competition. Week 2 sees the professional men and celebrity ladies battling it out to stay in the competition. Week 3 onwards sees them all compete together.
