On Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars” broadcast, contestant Melissa Gilbert hit her head during her paso doble with her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. She felt so dizzy after the dance that her fellow contestant Gavin DeGraw carried her out of the set, to an ambulance, and she was transported to the nearby Cedars Sinai hospital.
Luckily, Gilbert does not have to remain in the hospital overnight. “I’m alright,” she tweeted a little over two hours after the show wrapped. “Mild concussion and whiplash. Very soon I will be safely home resting and being taken care of.”
She included a little love for Chmerkovskiy. “You are my great champion. I adore you,” she wrote. She also sent DeGraw a note of thanks. “Bless your heart for carrying me down those stairs!”
